The Nippon Origami Museum

The Nippon Origami Museum is located on the second floor of Okashi-jo, Kagahan in Kaga city in the Ishikawa prefecture.  It was opened on Sunday, July 1, 2001 and has had many thousands of visitors.  The museum features a permanent exhibition of over 200 works of art created by NOA members both in Japan and overseas.  It also has a section dedicated to the history of origami and a newly opened Dinosaur Land.  In addition to the exhibition space the museum has a classroom, an origami theatre, an interactive area, and a well-stocked shop selling origami books and materials.

The origami collection is changed on a regular basis and features models sent in by members from around the world.  If you would like to send in some of your original work for consideration, please send them to the museum.

Members of the Nippon Origami Association can visit the museum for free by showing your membership card.

To get there by car it is located about 5 minutes drive from "Kagaonsen" JR station.

Opening Project --- "Origami Deco”

We would like to collect Origami work to decorate the Nippon Origami Museum for its opening celebration.  Please send us your origami work for a hanging display at the Origami museum.  The collection will be called "Origami Deco…!"

Please send us models that would be suitable to exhibit ideally each submission should be around 10cms tall by 15cms wide.  We can provide hanging wire and a small name card to record details of the work submitted and the creator.!
